š¤ Welcome to the Rebellion
Flirting with discomfort. Expanding into Self (together) Issue 01 | May 2025
Hey Rebels,
Iāve been thinking about starting a newsletter for a whileāand to be honest, I resisted it. Teaching on the mat is my home base. Itās safe and familiar. Iāve done the reps, greased the groove. But writing? Sharing like this? It somehow feels more exposing.
So, I sat with it, and asked myself: How do I want to show upāfor myself and for others? (A journal prompt I invite you to sit with, too.)
Iām a teacher, a seeker, and a woman navigating this beautifully chaotic (and sometimes turbulent) life. Itās messy and bumpy, layered and realā far more than the highlight reels weāre shown. And yet, thatās what I love about it. Thatās where the lessons live. Itās where Iāve let layers of myself go (ego deaths and dark nights of the soul). Itās where Iāve grieved, cried and eventually found gratitude. Itās also where Iāve found parts of myself over and over again ā through ritual, trainings, books, yoga, silence and svÄdhyÄya (self-study).
Iām done playing small and safe. For myself and for others. I want to create, express, and connect. I want to be realāVulnerable. Messy. Expansive. And feel alive.
When I think of the people who inspire me, they donāt hold back. So even when Iām nervous and uncomfortable, Iām choosing to show up, and do it anyway.
This space āWellness Rebellionā is for that kind of honesty. Itās for exploring your edgesāthe ones that make you a little uneasyāand flirting with them. Thatās where growth lives. Where we find our strength, meet our softness, stretch the mind, body and heartā and where we get radically honest with ourselves.
We grow by getting uncomfortable. By asking hard questions. By following joy, trusting truth, and trembling through it anyway. With strong spines and open hearts. š¤
We do this for ourselvesāand for those around us.
And you donāt have to do it alone.
In each newsletter, Iāll share whatās inspiring me: classes, conversations, practices, playlists, events, books, breath-work, and thoughts from the mat. My hope is that it reminds you that your pathā however winding, raw, or wild yours isā that itās precious. And itās enough.
Thanks for being here. Let's get messy
With love + rebellion,
Kirra
š± Class of the Month
CREATING SPACE ā with Katie Wang
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, thereās a brand-new CREATING SPACE yin class live now on the Peloton app, featuring my incredible friend and fellow instructor Katie Wang. We dive into overwhelm, ADHD, anxiety, and the tools that help soften the terrain. Itās raw, real, and full of heart.
If youāre new to the series, there are already 5 classes upāstarting with a solo session, followed by conversations with Denis Morton, Adrian Williams, Kirsten Ferguson, and Matty Maggiacomo. The goal? To help you feel seen and less alone through honest, vulnerable conversations.
If youāre struggling right now, please know this:
You are not broken. You are not a burden. Youāre mind is just confused. Youāre not meant to do it aloneāso donāt be afraid to ask for help.
As a friend once told me:
"There are no obstacles, only terrain. If itās on your path, it is your path. It doesnāt matter whatās in front of youāwhat matters is how we get through it, over it, around it, or past it.ā
